multi-coloured balls of wool

Join us to bring toys to orphans

I am excited to invite you to join us in bringing joy to orphans. Are you interested in giving toys to orphans? What’s this about you might be asking?

multi coloured balls of wool

I have been giving much thought to how to continue the work we began to assist orphans. A few months ago, my mother mentioned that she would love to be able to knit further beanies or toys for orphan children or poor children in hospital in Jerusalem. As part of the my research into what aspects of my work to place on Patreon, I came across a creative person who is making up care packages for the needy. He offers for his Patrons to join in the making of these care packages. This gave me an idea.

You will notice that I am gradually adding several membership levels to this website. One of these levels is an invitation for you to join us in increasing acts of kindness in the world. On this level, a percentage of your membership will go towards materials for making items for orphans. We have two gifts on the go. One is our Mikvah Packages and the second is to knit toys, beanies and other items for orphan children in Jerusalem.

In the image above you will see 6 balls of wool that I managed to obtain today. These balls of wool are currently on special. The special allows us to obtain 6 balls of wool for what we usually pay for 2 balls. Of course we would prefer to use cotton, but it’s a great start.

Hand Knitted Dolls and Teddy Bears
Dolls and teddy bears hand knitted by Shoshanah Shear and Rosemary Kahn

The above image shows some dolls and teddy bears we have knitted in the past. You are welcome to become a member of our website for a month or a few or even for a year. Or you can order a gift to be hand knitted for your own child. A percentage of the proceeds will go towards the cost involved in knitting these and similar fun, happy items. Help us to bring joy to the lives of widows and orphans.

Those who sign up to become a member of this level will receive regular updates of the progress of our knitting as well as who we given the toys and other items to. You can also make suggestions as to what items we knit. As we progress, we would love to develop a craft / support group for widows. We have a bit of work to do before we can develop our group. Every member will help us to make this happen more speedily.

Thank you for joining us in increasing acts of kindness especially in assisting widows and orphans. This post will be available for a week, after which it becomes part of our Acts of Kindness, level of membership of this website.
