Wise Words and an Open Book

Quote to Explain Occupational Therapy

Have you ever wondered what occupational therapy is? Perhaps you look for a quote to explain occupational therapy? I had a lot of fun writing, editing and formatting my book, “Healing Your Life Through Activity – An Occupational Therapist’s Story“. A book written to explain the profession. So much fun that it has opened the door to writing many more books.

Thoughts about Writing the Book

The process took quite a bit longer than I thought that it would. That is partly because writing is a process. The book evolved and changed until it took on a life of it’s own and became something completely different to what I had originally intended it to be. The change is good though, for a variety of reasons.

Of course, once the text was coming together, there was a need to begin editing and formatting. For the formatting side, I began to gather a number of quotes. If you read the book you will find quotes that are relevant to the topic, sprinkled throughout the book. Of course, it was quite a job to decide what order to arrange the quotes in and then to obtain the necessary permissions.

Changing the introductory quote

I thought I had a great quote to use as my introductory quote. However, various tasks related to preparing the promotion side and I happened to come up with wording of my own. Wording that became a quote to explain occupational therapy in just one sentence. Is that even possible? I often wonder, but needless to say,  the quote that appears in the image at the top of this article came into being. I hope it gives you a taste of how much fun writing a book can be.

There are so many details involved! So many stages to the process. Now that the book is out and available for sale, there are many more opportunities that crop up. The first was creating my YouTube Channel. Next has come discovering Pinterest. Of course, on Pinterest it is recommended to have images and boards and quotes and more. So here we are, the first of many creative images to showcase the various quotes that have been featured in this book.
